Location:  LOW 4 Off Road proving grounds in Mareeba

Duration:  9am to 4pm

RIIVEH305F Training components: 
  • Identify four-wheel drive specific terms, terminology and techniques
  • Plan for minimal environmental impact
  • Perform pre-departure checks
  • Use the features of a four-wheel drive vehicle to drive in a variety of terrain types
  • Use a single snatch strap to recover a vehicle
  • Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on four-wheel drive vehicles

what to bring

  • USI (Unique Student Identifier), including 3 forms of identification (ID)
  • 4WD Fleet Vehicle – if your company doesn’t have a 4WD, hire vehicle is available upon request for additional cost
  • Comfortable shoes (closed in recommended)
  • Sun-smart clothing (we suggest a wide brimmed hat, long sleeve shirts and long pants)
  • A raincoat (wet season)
  • Sunscreen
  • Water, snacks and lunch – please note Jaques Coffee is located next door or you can take a short drive to Mareeba.
