Set at our purpose-built off-road proving grounds, you’ll tackle real obstacles, learn safe recovery techniques, and gain the knowledge you need to handle tough terrain — whether for recreational adventures or professional requirements.

Participating in the one-day LOW 4 Off-Road training course offers drivers a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills and gain insights into their vehicle’s capabilities. This comprehensive program aims to boost your confidence and proficiency while navigating your 4WD.

Location:  LOW 4 Off Road proving grounds – 60km west of Cairns Emerald Creek.
Duration:  8am to 4pm (times may vary depending on numbers)
Cost:  

  • Recreational package (Weekends only) $350 per vehicle per vehicle for 2 drivers.
  • Accredited Training $450 per person (Statement of attainment RIIVEH305F Operate and Maintain a four wheel drive vehicle) Monthly Schedule – use your own vehicle or hire ours.
  • Camping Saturdays ($30 per vehicle) Bush camp – toilets provided no showers or power )
  • Vehicle Hire $350 (Manual and Auto vehicles available )

  • 4WD terminology
  • Basic mechanical inspections and trip preparations
  • Wheel changing
  • ABS and Braking
  • Trip Planning
  • Off-road driving techniques
  • Obstacle driving techniques
  • Creek crossings
  • Vehicle placement in rough terrain
  • Basic tow recovery techniques
 

A LOW 4 Off-Road 2 Day 4WD training weekend includes all the fruit from our 1 day recreational training course and then further develops your experience and confidence.  We will guide drivers to understand the capability of their vehicles better and surpass their expectations of what they felt was possible in their four wheel drive vehicle.

Location:  LOW 4 Off Road proving grounds 60Km West of Cairns , Emerald creek.

Duration:  8am to 4pm (Day 1) and 8am to 2pm (Day 2) (times may vary depending on numbers)

Cost: 

  • Recreational (Weekends only) $460 per vehicle for 2 drivers.
  • Accredited $600 (Statement of Attainment RIIVEH305F & FWPCOT3326 – Recover Four-Wheel Drive Vehicle)
  • Camping Saturdays ($30 per vehicle) Bush camp – toilets provided no showers or power )
  • Vehicle hire $500 ( Manual and Auto Vehicles Available) 
  • All recovery equipment available and included.
